THE CHALLENGE
Renovate an existing medical office building to create a satellite cancer treatment center requiring sterile compounding pharmacy, infusion services, and integration of high-tech diagnostic equipment.

- USP 797-compliant sterile compounding pharmacy design with modular cleanroom technology
- Integration of biosafety cabinets with ISO-5 and ISO-7 cleanroom environments
- Specialized HVAC design for pharmacy contamination control and pressure differentials
- Patient-centered infusion areas designed for extended treatment sessions
- Blood laboratory coordinated with pharmacy operations

RESULT
Successfully expanded University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center network into western suburbs, providing comprehensive oncology services closer to patients. Pharmacy design became prototype for additional UH cancer center locations.
